Vinoy Ramachandran is a Research Fellow, in Professor Poole’s lab. He is interested in studying how rhizobia attach and colonise legume roots, a key step in rhizobia-legume symbiosis. He employs cutting-edge luminescence assays, RNASeq, ChIPSeq, Insertion sequencing (INSeq) and bioinformatics to dissect genes involved in legume root attachment and colonisation. In the IUNFC project, he will use his expertise in rhizosphere biology and -omics technologies to identify key genes of rhizobia involved in metabolism and colonisation of the pigeon pea rhizosphere.
