My primary research focuses on microbial ecology, greenhouse gas cycling, climate change, and plant microbial interaction. In IUNFC my contribution will be to screen out effective pigeonpea rhizobia in Vertisols, establish relation between microbial population dynamics and symbiotic association and real time quantification of the functional community involved in N cycling in Vertisols. I am also interested to evaluate the cross biome interaction among various microbial groups. Through integrating the molecular tools and ecological concepts we will refine our understanding to improve plant productivity and ecosystem function.
